Lets make this into an equation (where n= the unknown number):
4 x n= 192 or
4n= 192, multiply both sides by the reciprocal of 4, or 1/4 to find the value of n itself:
1/4 x 4n = 192 x 1/4, then
n = 48,
so four times 48 equals 192.

I notice a backslash after 192, but I suspect that is a typing error!?
But, it's important to understand that multiplication and division are very closely linked together. Such that if you have two numbers and you multiply them together lets just use
3 x 5...... then we find that 15 is the result. You can think of 15 as a rectangle of poker chips or marbles or pennies.
O O O
O O O
O O O
O O O
O O O
So if I said to you What number time 3 will equal 21 ?
Then make a rectangle and see what happens.
O O O
O O O
O O O
O O O X 7
O O O
O O O
O O O
3
So by putting the large multiple such as 192 into into a nice little rectangle, you will force yourself to see both numbers of the multiplication question.
But you would say that 192 is too big to mess with like that. And you're right, but look at my simple examples. By taking 21 and putting it into groups of three, you are forced into making a 3 by 7 array!!!!
So your missing number is 7 !!!!
But putting a large number like 192 into a rectangular array of groups of 4, you are doing Division!!! Thus Division and Multiplication are the exact same thing!!!
So if you have some number (let say a big number like 625) and you want to know what times what will give you 625, by putting it into a very large array, you will see that the answer is 25!!!
And that 625 makes a nice large square. Thus we say the root of that square is 25, this is the square root!
And the square root of say 700 would be 25 with a remainder of 75
OKAY, I need to stop. I hope I have helped you see how that missing numbers can be expressed in terms of geometric shapes. By playing around with shapes or arrays, you can see what I'm saying.
Hope this helps you!
