I really need help. I am debating over Derek Jeter or Matt Holiday.

it depends on the style of league you are in. if you are in a yahoo league, than you can do far better with the 7th pick.

if soriano is still available i would take him, there is no better mix of speed and power in the league. which means you dont have to waste a pick on a high stealer later in the draft. howard would be my next choice (but he will probably be gone by the 7h pick), followed by a-rod or beltran. i would probably take arod over beltran, because he offers you better average, and he might be in the last year of a contract, so he has the incentive to put up some big stats.

both the guys you mentioned can probably be had in the second or even third round.

Derek Jeter or Holiday should not be taekn in the first round. Jeter is a late second round, early third round pick. Holiday is good pick in the third round, but not earlier than that.

From the MLB.com preview

Albert Pujols 1B STL 38 What more can be said? Simply the best.
Jose Reyes SS NYM 35 Next best thing to Pujols for overall production.
Alex Rodriguez 3B NYY 34 Still the best, even when not at his best.
Ryan Howard 1B PHI 34 Don't rule out 60 homers for reigning NL MVP.
Chase Utley 2B PHI 33 Gold standard among second basemen.
David Ortiz DH BOS 32 Upward trend may very well continue.
Carl Crawford OF TB 32 Best is yet to come: 20 homers, 55 steals.

Unless it is a keeper draft you shouldn't even be considering either of them, but i'll assume that it is. In that case, I say holliday.
