my doc told me it was fine for me to take baths in the same situation as long as my water was intact. BUT i was to limit my time to about 30 mins. as the warm water also rises the babies body tempt.

I've heard that you shouldn't at that stage, but its really up to you. I would be more concerned about bacteria from the bathtub rather than your water breaking being that you are already dialated that means your water is going to break anytime anyways.
Be patient, soon enough you;'ll be able to do all those things that you couldn't do before, you'll just have a beautiful baby right along side with you.
Instead of a bath, try sitting on a shower stool and let the warm water just trickle down over your body with some nice sudsy body wash, that way you don't take the chance at putting you or the baby at risk for anything unexpected.

i took i a long hot bubble bath the night i had my kids. A bubble bath will not hurt you or the baby. The only thing i would be concerned about is if your contractions get stronger while you are in the bath. I mean it is at your descreaction what you mant to do but i would say it is ok to take a long nice bubble bath.

I think it would be okay to take a warm bath, but definately skip the bubbles! Bubbles are a major cause of infection. And at this point in your pregnancy, don't worry about your water breaking. It is time!! You baby is full term, so enjoy these last days of pregnancy! Good luck and congratulations!

I have never heard of your water breaking because of taking a bath. I know your not supposed to take HOT baths and not to take a bath if your water is broken, but that is it. Maybe relaxing might make your water break, but hey your right there anyway bring it on right? you'll feel your water break and you can get out of the tub. When your water breaks on its own it actually feels like a pop. Good luck to you.

Dont you want your water too break!!

Anyways that is not true because i was in active labor and took a bath a hot one too!
And you can also have water births so there isn't anything wrong with it.
If your water breaks and you have contractions go to the hospital.

Nothing wrong...you are fine

Go take a bath!

I don't think a hot bath would hurt any thing. In the 60's, people would give birth in the tub - so it's not abnormal or anything. I'd be a little careful with the soap - but I dont' think a bath is a need for concern.

So "if you're close", what's the worse scenario? you have your baby, right?

Until your water breaks you can bathe. If your water breaks because of the bath then you will probably go into labour and not have to worry about it. My sisters water broke at 36.5 weeks and she wasnt in labour at all, but within a day she went into labour on her own. So your baby will just come sooner. Congratulations

It would be ok if the bath is not too hot and if your water has not broken yet.
Be sure the bath is very clean and don't use bubbles because it could irritate you. Just take a plain bath using mild soap.
good luck!

I don't think it could cause your water to break. I would ask your doctor.. most of the time they say you know your limits and if you think something is wrong then get ahold of them.

take your bath, it couldn't hurt you or the baby, and if you do end up in the hospital at least you know you are clean!
