The election is still a long time off and I know plenty will change but right now Giulliani and Clinton are the front runners. Both are pro-choice.

Any chance abortion wont be an issue in the next presidential election?

Interesting question... however, I think it may be too soon to pick Giuliani as the republican nominee. It's true he's ahead in the polls but also true that most republicans who picked him don't even know where he stands on all the issues. If they all knew how moderate he is they'd probably run to a more right-wing candidate. I like Giuliani but don't think he'll be their nominee... his stances plus skeletons in the closet will be his downfall, IMO.

Yep there is a chance, and if it happens there will be a big split of the Republican party followed by the election of the Democrat candidate.

it would require a constitutional convention to ban abortion, meaning it's never been a real issue. but i understand what you're saying. If Giuliani wins the repub nomination, he'll win the white house in a landslide.

Guiliani gets the nod and a conservative 3rd party candidate will emerge and cost him the election. Republicans must get their base back and Rudy is not the one to do it.

I think the whole abortion debate is on everyone's back burner at this time. I feel that there are more important issues to think about. (i.e. War in Iraq, Defending our borders, terrorism)

It's kind of looking that way! Then we can rest assured that our right to kill babies is around for many years to come.
