the people i supervise in the call center have rules they have to follow...like "call to say you are taking an absence or you will be a no call no show", or "no food at your desk", or "say please and thank you on your calls".

why do i have to tell them and tell them and then write them up?

why can some people not hear the rules?

The capacity for living in society, following rules and taking direction are not inborn, they are skills that must be learned. It would appear that some of your personnel have not developed those skills. Good luck.

Because the rules are retarded, oppressive, and intrusive and the people who administer them are often heartless. I signed up once to work at a call center. It was so stupid that they sent one man home to change clothes because they didn't approve of the material his pants were made out of. I just walked out and let them keep their job with its counter-productive, inhuman rules.

I am a manager also. I know exactly what you are feeling. Some people just wont listen. I write them up and go on with my day. I have quit trying to reason with them. Some listen, most dont. I say - let them get fired. It wont hurt me, just them.

Most people today are complete tools, you might want to spray some WD40 on them.
