In my 20's I gained about 70 lbs. I lost all the weight when I turned 33 and kept it off but I keep those 38 inch waist pants there as a reminder. And no, I didn't eat at Subway everyday.

I have a beautiful sheer lace dress in a warm brown that belonged to my mother, bought for *her* mother's funeral in 1949. I love it, it fits me perfectly and it still looks new. I wear it sometimes just for fun.
