Yes and I did meet my half sister that none of us knew about. My father died when I was only 1, and when I was 40 I found out he had been married before my Mother and in fact was twice before her but she never knew, she died before we found out about our sister. My sister contacted me and my siblings but only2 of us actually met her(there are 6 of us). She and I looked more like sisters than my other sisters. We had the same hair color, eyes, and skin tone. We were even the same height and build. We became friends and kept in touch until she died three years ago. I am now 57 and do not regret meeting her. My other siblings also corresponded with her even though they never met. I miss her very much. If you do meet her first write and talk on the phone. Get to know something first. Good luck and may God be with you.

Depends on my relationship with my father.

My father was a s-l-u-t when I was growing up, and he thought he was slick enough (and everybody else dumb enough) that no one knew.

His behavior was painful for everyone and made for a miserable home life and marriage--which we have all suffered from to this very day. While he was with HER (the other child's mother whether a child was born of the relationship or not), it meant that he was neglecting US.

I found out when I was in college that my mother and my aunt (his sister) strongly suspected that he had had a child. I'm sure it is absolutely true.

On brief, rare, occasion, I'm curious about that child. But, no, I've never particularly wanted to meet him. And, I do feel as sorry for him as I've felt for myself.

I've actually had this in my family only I was about 13 when my father told us he was a grandfather and I figured it out! We have since wrote, talked on the phone, but I have no real need to meet with her. It was way in the past and I feel it should stay there.

most definitely, If she felt the same and wanted to meet up also. it would be very interesting to compare similarities you both might have inherited from your father as this person is half blood.there could be nieces, nephews and a Whole range of family you have never met, you never know this could really enrich your life and open up doors to many new oppurtunities and happy memories

I would, family is very important to me. But I'm the youngest of 6 kids, so what's one more sibling? I do have a niece or nephew out there somewhere that I would love to meet and get to know, and it saddens me not knowing how they are or where they are.

Well yes...she is your half sister. She's family...whether you knew it or not till now.

And who knows what you may be missing, a new best friend, a great sister....new memories to be made, your children another Aunt.....don't pass this opportunity up, your dad apparently did.

I would if it was a convenience. Not if I had to go searching for her and fly to another city to meet her. If she was around, willing to meet me, then fine. Otherwise what does it really matter at this point?

Yeah, I met my half brother once. He was a secret for 17 yrs. You know what, there no point to it, unless he still communicates with her

Absolutely. I'd be curious as to what she looked liked, sounded like....I'd wonder if we are alike in some ways. They are family. I'd want to at least open the door to a new relationship. What do you have to lose? You have nothing to lose, all to gain. Go for it.

I would, because when it comes down to it family is all you have and she is your blood. She may be nice and you may get along. I have been told that i may have a brother by my dad but i can't seem to get in touch with him
