I don't think you are depressed, I think you are just sensitive, and probably artistic. A lot of artists are sensitive, where else would we get such emotional music, songs, books & poems??, from sensitive creative people like you, think of a sad love song, could it have been written by someone that "gets over things", quickly?, NO! It takes someone that really feels strongly to produce such work, so embrace your personality, and use it to your advantage, now go write one of your poems, I can't write them, but I like to read them,

Some therapy probably wouldn't hurt... you need to deal with some issues in your life, like your inability to let 'go' of some things. A good psychiatrist can help you figure out why you have this feeling of perpetual sadness, so you can 'fix' it.
Some signs of clinical depression:
* Feeling lost, hopeless, sad or empty, listlessness/fatigue or sudden boosts of energy.
* Inability to perform even the smallest/easiest tasks.
* Losing interest in things that used to give you pleasure in the past.
* Sleeping more or less.
* Eating more or less
* Weight gain or weight loss
* Problems with concentration (which you didn't have before)
* Disliking yourself and everything you do. Critising yourself constantly (this can also be due to low self-esteem, but coupled with other symptoms and if this is new to you, it's most likely depression.)
* Excessive thoughts of death or suicide.
This is just an indication though, and you really need to get evaluated by a therapist or doctor to be 100% sure.

there's a lot more than that when it comes to depression. there r a lot more symptoms. everyone gets sad. it might be that u r just an emotional person but if u really think u have it, see a professional b.c u cant always trust people on here...but just give it time and if u still feel the same way after a couple weeks or so, see a doctor.

sounds like stitutation depression you let your self get depressed from one thing to another but you can enjoy the finer things in life too and then get sad that they don't continue all the time, So feel happy that alot of people out there are in the same boat too and enjoy the good times and try to blow off the sad times, in such a way that they don't keep coming back. and it is good to feel the like you do alot of people out there don't care enough to feel anything at all! so smile God is always with you.

You might be....but people deal with things in their own way. Go see a doctor and they can tell you for sure and maybe give you something that can help. If you are feeling suicidal get help right away but I really hope that is not the case! I hope you feel better!

It does not sound like you are clinically depressed. We all go through ups and downs and feel sad at times.
Real depression is when you cannot get out of bed and you can't do anything but stare at walls. A truly depressed person is non functioning.

I'm not sure but it sounds like you do. I ask myself that sometimes because I feel the same way. I think you should check this site out. It may help you figure out what's wrong. http://www.kidshealth.org/teen/your_mind/feeling_sad/depression.html
