I have a ps3 and an HDTV made by philips. I just bought an HDMI cable to use instead of the three colored cable, but I cannot get it to work. Unfortunately I cannot find the owners manual for the TV, but there is an HDMI input in the back, and when I cycle the different inputs HDMI shows up on the screen, but I cant get the ps3 to go thru that cable. Am I doing something wrong? I tried changing the settings on the ps3, but it was blank for 30 sec, which according to the ps3 instructions, means that the connection isnt right. Can anyone offer me any help?

attempt to discover the guidance on your HDTV on-line. It must be HDCP-properly suitable for it to artwork with the ps3. maximum new HDTV's are, yet slightly older ones would no longer be. in case your HDTV doesn't have HDCP-compatibility, examine the decrease back of it to work out if it has element inputs. If it does, get a element cable on your ps3 from gamestop or everywhere (about $15, the most inexpensive one might want to artwork merely besides because the intense priced ones). this provides you 720p video high quality (no longer extremely as solid as HDMI, although the 2d most suitable selection). wish that permits.

If the HDTV is a plasma you will have problems because they are not made for pluggin gaming consoles to them. But if your HDTV is LCD you should have no problems. If the problem persists contact sony or go to the official ps3 website.
