First, go into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key as you start up your pc. Once that's done, do a Defragmentation of your drives.

First i would run disk defragmenter. go through the start menu and then accessories> system tools. if that doesnt help try a virus scanner. trendmicro.com has an all online free scan called housecall.
