Simple answer: Yes.

However, I don't think the people who are inclined to watch NASCAR really think about the geopolitical ramifications of oil consumption. And if you explained that we're funding the war on both fronts with our dependence on the stuff, I don't think many of them would care. They like to see cars go round and round, waited with bated breath for the sign of a collision and that's all that matters. Git-R-Done!

Now let us not start looking down our noses at people who enjoy auto racing. Whatever oil any country has it can easily sell even if America stopped buying oil entirely.

A far better case can be made for Americans who use recreational drugs. That money most certainly goes to support terrorism.

Personally, I believe that advances made by science and industry over the next two decades will pretty much make crude oil obsolete.

Al Gore's plane or Nancy PILLosi's plane uses more gas than one Nascar race.

"a study once that found that all the gasoline that was used for the practices, testing, qualifying and racing of the Daytona 500 was no more fuel than what one NFL football team jet would consume flying from New York to LA"

"Does NASCAR and other racing contribute a good amount of emissions into the atmosphere?"
