im going to law school soon, benefits are you can open a practice of your own and set your own schedule for the most part...Try interning at a law firm, I interned at two different ones for two different fields of law, one i liked the other i didnt. thats the best way to know if you want to be a lawyer.

If you worked as a prosecutor, you would be able to take the dangerous criminals off the streets. You could also do pro bono work which many families would appreciate greatly. Also, learning about the law system would better educate you on the workings of the government which could help you or your family.

Overall though, there doesn't seem to be that many benefits to being a lawyer... everyone seems to think that they're shady... haha

Law school is not for the faint of heart - that being said, it's a fascinating learning process. Like any graduate degree, you get to learn things that most people never do. It's hard, and it's frustrating, but it also makes you feel proud of yourself for really accomplishing something.
A law degree will make you really marketable in virtually any work environment. A lot of people with law degrees are not the typical "lawyers" with bad reputations. As long as you stay true to who you are and pick a field of law that is really interesting to you and that you are passionate about, I think that it's a fulfilling profession.
