Thats how all religious sites are. That's why I avoid them. They're so hypocritical.

I don't know about depressing, but mostly as far as people being close-minded... these topics are usually dealing with very personal beliefs. Most people are defensive when it comes to their personal beliefs.

Try going over to the parenting section, and asking a question about formula feeding. The breast feeding nazis will quickly swarm in to denounce your mothering abilities.

Both topics require a certain lack of intelligence to form strong and unbreakable opinions on them. It leads to boring and stubborn arguments. I stay out of there.
