me and my best friend make fun of her ex. They also have a lot of complicated history, but they don't hate each other. Will she feel completely betrayed if i become friends with him.

poison4yo- sorry i was unclear. I met my best friend in August/September. They went out for two years but they broke up at about or before the time I met her. maybe a little after. but we didn't know each other as well then, so i didn't really know him

Well it depends. I dont mind one bit that my best friend is friends with my ex boyfriend, but that might be because I have no feelings for him whatsoever. Neither love or hate. I might be a little upset if i really hated him and wanted my friends to shun him with me, and i would be even more upset if i still liked him and my friend became close to him. Talk to your friend about it and see how she takes it.

since you say they dont hate each other i say it should be okay to a "Hi" and "Bye" type relationship. because you did say you and your best friend make fun of her ex. however i am very curious as to why all of a sudden you have an interest in becoming friends with her ex. you and the ex should already be friends of some sort just for the fact that your best friend was going with him. i think you have some other hidden agenda that your not coming clean with.

It depends on how they are with each other now. There's really no reason to not be friends, but it will usually stir up trouble between the two of you.

well hate to break it to you but i think being friends with any friends ex is on the grounds of some trouble...if you do decide to do this make sure to be open and honest with your friend so she at least knows and isn't blind sided with the news

she shouldn't feel betrayed if you're JUST friends with him. If you become more, then she obviously would, but it doesn't sound like you intend to... but it depends on how complicated their history was if she'll be mad or not...
Good luck!

It depends on the person, but, I actually think that she would =( because she sees you as a sister and she counts on you.

The only way you'll know for sure is to ask her.
