Hi.. I got my period at age 9.. and it never regulated it would go away for 3 months then come back... I was fine with it but my Mom flipped out!..they thought I wasn't a virgin and forced me to take a pregnancy test in the seventh grade.. I didn't even have a BF..and I was soo hurt that they thought this of me...
So they took me to the doctors to confirm I wasn't preg. and of course I wasn't... but it turns out that I have a hormone imbalance and so they put me on birth control to regulate my period.. I loved it because I always knew when my period would come, it helped control my acne, and the cramps were not that bad... the doctor said that this is normal and alot of girls need the help... so i suggest seeing a doctor, she might need the pills...
just be careful how you approach her.. and let her know the reasons, if she does need the pill.. also one other thing...since my parents put me on the pill it felt easier for me to start having sex because i knew i would be safe..she just make it real clear the sole purpose for the pill.. sorry its soo long i hope it helps!

When they first start the cycle will be unpredictable for up tp 3 years. I am 11, turning 12 and my friend started hers in October 2006.Sometimes she ahs her period every other month, sometimes every month. Or it could be stress related. My other friend had hers 1 month late because she was stressed out. If she doesnt have it in the next 2-4 weeks, i would consult a doctor, it could be irregular hormones. Hope this helps. Bye!

I'm assuming you mean that she had her first period 2 months ago. It can take awhile for things to regulate once a girl starts menstruating. You don't automatically start out on a 28 day cycle. Please don't relay your worry to her, this is a rollercoaster time for her already and if she starts to worry that something is wrong with her, the stress from worrying could mess up her cycle even more. Her body is just starting out in this new phase and it will take a little time to get on a schedule. All is normal, relax mom! :)

When girls first get their periods, most of the time they are not regular. She may not have another one for 6 months or more... or she may have just not told you.
Her cycle may be totally unpredictable for up to 3 years.

During the first two years after menarche (first menstruation), an irregular cycle is to be expected. No worries. :)
