Galvanize pipe is expensive! Is there an inexpensive winter/ all weather PVC I can use, to add a faucet extension to my backyard garden?

My suggestion would be to use a small piece of galvanized pipe to enter and exit the ground, and use schedule 40 PVC pipe underground. Depending on your location, make sure you bury the pipe deep enough to get past the frost line. If depth is a problem, and you can't get it deep enough, use schedule 80 PVC pipe, and insulate even the pipe in the ground. Make sure you use schedule 80 fittings also. Good luck!

You don't say where your at or what PVC you are using! We use all PVC here and have no problems.,, just make sure you use a heavyier (thicker walled) PVC and use some of that foam pipe wrap you can get at Wallyworld, Lowes etc!!! Thin wall PVC is a definite bust!!!

Try that new Aquapex stuff. They say it expands and contracts with the freezing water and has a lifetime guarantee not to bust or leak, and it's fairly inexpensive. Give it a shot!
