how about romance? I haven't seen it yet, but everyone's saying that "The Notebook" is among the greatest love stories ever.

how about epics? have you seen Pearl Harbor with Ben Affleck, Kate Beckinsale, Josh Hartnett and others?
Young people should see that movie, if they want to watch a good movie and learn something important.

and Marie Antoinette looks interesting - love those historical movies about different periods of time.

As far as comedies I liked Hotshots with Charlie Sheen. Here's a good list I found from someone asking in Y! answers about what the best comedies of all time were:
Young Frankenstein, 50 First Dates, Mr. Deeds, Liar Liar, Arsenic & Old Lace, Groundhog Day, What About Bob?, Mrs. Doubtfire, Patch Adams, Tommy Boy, Elf, The Great Outdoors, Shrek, Sons of the Desert, Way Out West, and The March of the Wooden Soldiers.

OK I just watched stranger than fiction and it was sooo boring!! I watched Babel and it is great so was Crash. But as far as a comedy goes I would say anything Madea. Also Marie Antoinette was really good.

What about 'Stranger than Fiction' - want to see it
'A Good Year' - want to see it
'For your Consideration' - saw it - funny
'Waiting' - a little older but funny
'Farce of the Penguins' - I saw it at the movie store - may be a couple laughs
Snakes on a Plane - Pretty good
