is your car turning over when you turn the key??? have you got ignition lights?? we need a bit more info really...like what the car is doing.. if your in the UK you prob would of heard about all the BAD petrol which has messed up loads of cars (its all over the news about that)
Extend your Question, as it could be many things.. petrol, immobiliser, loose wire on starter etc

ahhh sounds like it's the altenator!! its not charging the battery, belt could be loose.. but you can get an altenator reconditioned pretty cheap at your local scrap yard. when you jump start it & the car is running does the red battery light come on in the dash??
the clicking is not having enough power to turn the startermotor..
first make sure the starter is not jammed..
or a loose connection, make sure the wires are nice tight. You can even put your car into gear (1st or 2nd) & rock the car forwards & backwards to unjam the starter. or find a pole or something to bang the starter..give it a few knocks.
Hope this helps you!

check and clean your battery cables... open car door and watch the interior lights as you try to start the vehicle. If they dim, it is something between or including the battery and the starter. If they don't, check ignition switch and wires goingto the starter from the switch.

it sounds like you have tried everything else but it could be the solenoid, or possibly the fuel pump.
