Considering a career in accounting and would like to know what people perceive as an ideal candidate for accounting and also would love to hear from actual accounts. Why do you love your job? Why did you pick it? What drew you to decide this was a career for you? I appreciate and than you in advance for your time.

Accounting itself can be boring (monthly closing accruals etc) But the fun part is the analysis of the results.
Why or why not a company had a good month or year.
The forecasting and what you can do to improve the bottom line,
How to manage assets so that they generate income.
How to reduce inventory or increase stock turns and ratios.
Analyzing wages, (rates, OT, hours)
Comparison to plan and last year
The FUN part is the VALUE ADD you bring to the table
Evaluating trends is another area that I enjoy.
Gathering the info is one thing but the fun part is how you can make things better by looking at problem areas and trying to develop better ways of doing things or focusing management's attention where it needs to be.
