Not safe at all. First of all, what are you using to pierce? A piercing gauge needle? Did you sterilize it? Are you going to clean the area with rubbing alcohol before hand? Do you know how to properly clean and care for it as they would at a parlor?
Don't do it, it can cost between $40-$60 at a parlor and it will be worth it because they know what they are doing. And what if it does get infected because of what you used to pierce or didn't care for it right? You'll end up paying more at the doctor than if you had had it pierced at a parlor. What happens when you are pushing the needle through and it hurts so bad you can't do it any longer???
Ouch, just get it done at a parlor. And remember... make sure its what you want because it does cost money. I've had mine pierced twice in 4 years and now its gone because I just got tired of it. Small scar, but it heals up real quick.
Good luck!?

piercing yourself is not a good idea unless you know what youre doing. especially somewhere on your face. If you pierce your own spetum and it gets infected, it can kill you in as little time as three days. piercing the side is much less risky, but there is always a HUGE risk of infection with an at home piercing. an infection in a piercing on the side of the nostril may not kill you, but it will make you look the opposite of what youre going for with the piercing in the first place.
are you doing this because you are too young to go to a shop?
if you are, i'm going to have to beg you to wait until youre old enough, and go and get it done legally. going to shop who will pierce an underage person aren't the type of shops you want work done at.
If you are old enough to go to a shop, please do, i promise you will be much happier with your piercing than if you tried it yourself.
however, if you have the correct equipment (like beveled hollow needles, not practice tat needles, not hypo needles, not sewing pins, saftey pins etc) a method of sterilisation (like an autoclave or pressure cooker) and.... well you see where im going with this.
besides, once you get that needle in your nose and hit those inner layers of skin that really suck, you may not even be ableto bear to do it to yourself.
there is alot more to piercing than meets the eye, this is why they have designated shops to go get this type of work done.

Yes it is safe to some point , but not the best idea. Even if you don't hit a nerve that will cause half of your face to drop there is that layer of skin inside the nose that is sooooo sensitive . If you want to you can try it , but I speak from experience when I tell you that it is going to hurt like hell and that layer of skin that I was talking about is going to make you're eyes well up . Best of luck to you and the nose :)

Its not safe and you can get an infection if you decide to pierce it by yourself. Ive known a lot of people who have pierced something for themselves but eventually take out the piercings, just go to a professional.

There are so many risks you take when trying to pierce yourself. If you are not trained to do it and are not properly trained in sanitation procedure you could risk infection which will have you wishing you would have never tried it in the first place.
In other words: CONSULT A PROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!

no. It can get infected. If you are going to do it yourself. use a lighter or the flame of a candle, to burn off all the germs off the tip of the needle. I'd get it done on the left flared out part of your nostril. it will be best if you go to a place for them to do it for you. They ARE the experts, right?
