Well for a timing belt the Isuzu Rodeos with both the 3.2L Honda motors and the 2.2L chevy motor both have timing belt driven water pumps.

I can name plenty of engines that the water pump is driven by the timing (BELT) a chain driven water pump would be a new one to this Ford Technician.

While it is a tiing belt not a chain, the ford escort was one of them. The timing belt ran the water pump. If the water pump failed, then you had to also replace the timing belt.

Yes! The Pontiac Grand Am with a 2.4 Quad 4. That engine uses a timing chain and it drives the waterpump.

The chrysler 2.7 engine on the dodge intrepid for example and any other chrysler 2.7 has a chain that runs the water pump
