6(2 - x) = 4x

Distribute the 6.

6(2) - 6x = 4x

Simplify.

12 - 6x = 4x

Move everything with an x to the left hand side, and everything without an x to the right hand side.

-6x - 4x = -12

Group like terms.

-10x = -12

Divide both sides by (-10) to isolate the x.

x = (-12)/(-10)

The right hand side reduces.

x = 12/10
x = 6/5

6 (2 - x) = 4x (expand the bracket)
12 - 6x = 4x (then add 6x to both sides of the equal sign)
12 = 10x (divide both sides by 10)
1.2 = x
