I have a cyst on my cervix (probably a nabothian cyst which are non-cancerous) but they can't be sure unless I have surgery to remove it. They are leaving the decision up to me and I do not know exactly what to do. It has been there for over 6 months, which the Dr. said was a little unususal, and the pain associated with it gets worse every month. I know it sounds like I have answered my own question and should have it removed, but I'm looking for some opinions, maybe some personal experiences. Would this surgery risk me not being able to have more children in the future? I am 20 years old with a 4 year old son, so it not associated with childbirth like some cysts are. My husband and I would like more children once he is out of the military and I don't want to make a decision like this if it can cause problems in the future. Anyone who can help, please feel free. Thanks!

No,that would have nothing do with your ability to become pregnant. It might cause a problem with cervial dilation during labor, depending on the technique your MD uses to remove the cyst,if there's some scar tissue formed on the cervix etc. Please ask your MD. Take care. SW RNP

A friend of mine had a cyst and let it go and it grew ridiculously big and she had to have emergency surgery to get it taken out and it had gotten so big that she had to have a hysterectomy too because of how it had grown.

I say get it but make sur eyou ask the dr all of these questions before hand.

Like about haivng children and stuff...

go ahead and have it off, it should not affect your ability to have more children. i've had lesions removed twice and that was before i had two beautiful children! chances are if it keeps growing and is painful, having it there might be more trouble to get pregnant than the surgery.
