sorry this is so long, but....

everyone wants something different when it comes to stuff like this. Here are some things that my friends and I do when we want to get away from everything:

1) we all get together and go to the lake at night (make sure its friends youre close to who wont judge you and a lake that isn't surrounded by houses) we all face the lake and take turns screaming as loud as we can. (I know it sounds lame, but it really works) we yell out things that bother us, such as "f*ck you, *name of person u hate*, or "f*ck you for not letting me get close to her/him" After we're all calm we go do something fun so we get our minds off the subject.

2) party, go to a club, get wasted

3) drive. just drive nonstop and see where u end up

4) go somewhere that doesn't resemble your homelife at all. A great way to do this is go camping for the weekend. My friends and i found a camp site about an hour drive away, it only cost about $15 for the weekend. it relieved so much stress. Just being out in nature without having to worry about parents, your boss, work, school, stress, people, hate.

there was this moment while i was there that just made time stand still. I was with my gf and we stood on a bridge above a rushing creek/waterfall. It was really beautiful; we talked about how this was so different from home, how this was the only place we could hug and enjoy something without getting gay bashed. For that second it seemed like everything was how it should be. that I was meant to be with her. I have never experienced something like this with anyone else but her and it seemed like God was ok with it.

Whenever I'm stressed I was think of that day. The money was so worth it and i would pay so much more just to go back.

5) whatever you decide to do, make sure that you are with at least one person. Being around people is the best way to get your mind off of something that is bothering you

Dancing does it for me, or try playing a face paced game, even just tag or dodgeball for a while. Try babysitting or working at an elementary school, those kids can have you looking at the world in a whole new way. Or just people watch and try to figure out who people actually are based on what they do and say; I like to pretend I am an anthropologist or spy when doing that. Or go to a museum and really study all the objects, visualize them being used by the people who made them, what happened way back when.

There's the old standbys: movies, television, sex.

How bout going to the theater? people don't do that often enough. Symphony? Ballet?

Maybe go out dancing? Running? Leaping for joy? Miniature golf? Or something more daring like car or horse racing, if available in your area. Even renting a horse and going out on a trail.

Many possibilities....

Valium.

EDIT: Thinking outside of the box .... cheap and only a couple of hours? Let's see ... you could have an affair with someone cheap, quick & of the opposite sex. EEK!

put on a set of headphones and turn on some of your favorite music, make sure to put a not on your door not to be disturbed and relax and close your eyes or find your very favorite, feel good movie, turn out all the lights, turn your phone off and still put the note on the door, I've done it and it works wonders for a sagging spirit or just to help you unwind from a sh*tty day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good luck, I hope that you feel better and completely destress!

This is the best thing I've ever done.

Fill your bathroom up with candles. Fill the tub up with bubble bath. Grab a good book and soak away those stress points.

Have a great day.
