If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and swims like a duck, there's a good possibility it's a duck.
I personally don't care if you are a lesbian, a hetero, anything in between or none of the above. Whatever makes you happy. Find some joy and happiness in whatever avenue you choose or lean towards.
Just having short hair should not automatically signal to others that you are a lesbian. There is something you're not telling us or are holding back. There is something else.
Not having a boyfriend is fine. Not having a girlfriend is fine too. There are people out there of both sexes that simply have no interest in sex or procreation.
Your problem lies elsewhere. It is the way you present yourself or carry yourself. If you have short hair, wear baggy jeans like men wear and loose fitting long sleeves shirts everyday that hide your figure, then many will judge you a lesbian.
I know of at least 3 lesbians where I work. 2 are what are commonly referred to as "lipstick lesbians" as they dress in very feminine attire and almost qualify as hotties. The other one is clearly a "Diesel Dyke" and wears men's jeans, sneakers, Marine boot camp crewcut, loose fitting shirts and from most angles looks like a guy. Only upon closer examination does it become apparent that this person was born female. From the back or sides from a distance, she looks like she could put a world of hurt on the members at any Hells Angel's hangout. Yeah, she looks that nasty.
True, the equipment is all the same but the presentation or wrappings sends a message loud and clear that female is not included.

dont bother.some of my friends said same of me cos they never seen me with a guy.they know i have guy friends,but even these guy friends call me a lesbian cos no bf and i am always with girls.but honestly,who cares.does a girl always have to have a bf,or go all fashionable,personally i aint so much into fashion,but doesnt make me a lesbian.i think u just enjoy that look and female company until the right guy comes ur way,then ur gonna experiance a change,and ur gonna be furfilled,i am still waiting for that moment,,,,,,lol.

screw em all. if you know who you are, then who cares what they have to say? i know thats hard, and its pretty much the same boring advice that everyone tells you, but really, its true. if you have at least one good friend to lean on, then you can get through any kind of teasing.
if it really bothers you so badly, try letting your hair grow, or go on a date or two, but really, just either a, ignore them, or b, kick someones ***, it wont change minds, but then theyll know better then to make fun of you
