in most cases yes especially if the purpose is to boost preformance. if it is mearly a replacement ecu than no it wouldn't . However you might want to ask the dealership or the company that you bought the vehilcle from. I personaly work for toyota. have for 31 years. best of luck

Yes and no. The program functions that you upload to change things, make the engine work a bit harder. Usually people change things back to the way they were before going to the dealer, it is called "Default Values" . A dealer can void your warranty, depending on the dealer. If they value you as a customer they will slap your wrist, give you the 25 cent lecture and put all the values back to stock, knowing when you get home you are putting all the horsepower values back in.
