I'd say the Honda simply because it has had less development in the last 30+yrs. Started as a 125 and kept getting bigger. Reliable as a rock. change the oil and it keeps going.
The Yamaha looks like the old 250 engine. the old engine had top end oiling problems. They have probably been fixed but its a downgraded 250 not an upgraded 125 so will probably be heavier

I just made that same decision about a year ago and I went with the Honda. The bikes are really close so you can't go wrong with either. I sat on both bikes and just liked the feel of the CRF better. Also the CRF is just a new generation XR and everyone knows the XR line has been one of the most dependable lines of bikes in decades. I really don't have a favorite brand of motorcycle so I feel my decision was pretty open minded. You'll have a blast on either one.
