new power steering pump ..new pressure hose to pump...but it leaks by the front drivers side tire..i was told this is the rack and pinion leaking..no power steering at all right now..ive tried the lucas sealants and it doesnt work...any one have a price range on what this cost to replace..i see auto zone has them for like 69-89 dollars??

Hello I am a Ford certified technician. Normally I would ask what kind of car you are working on. Sounds like one of the rack seals let go and is filling the rack belows(BOOTS) with fluid and expeling it out of the left side. You should have power assist if your resivour is full. I f your resivour is full and you still have no power assist the you may have a pump problem as well as a leak. The least expensive Motorcraft replacement rack runs around $250.00

On rack and pinion steering, there are seals on both ends of the actuator that does the hydraulic work for you. Sealants usually either don't work or they work for just a few days. The price depends on the car you have, the last one I changed on my corvette was $300. If you don't put it in yourself, get a labor estimate, It ain't cheap?

I would suggest purchasing a remanufactured rack for your car. go to remsteering.com and look up your car they have great deals and are a very reliable company.
