I'm talking about sound, chemical, heat, electrical, atomic, and mechanical energy. Is it essential to life? Is it life?

Energy is the essence of life. All living beings are energetic. While it is easy to understand energy (and your question shows you understand all the different forms of energy), it is not easy to define life. Life as it exists on earth involves some specific arrangements of carbon atoms and other elements that give rise to our bodies, animals, birds, insects, ameba...But the reverse is not true. A dead body also has all the chemicals of a live body but is dead. What is life and what is death? Very deep philosophical questions.

If consciousness and awareness are definitions of life, is a person in coma or is a person under anesthesia alive or not? Bacteria is definitely alive but is it conscious or aware of its own existence?

Your question has been debated for thousands of years and the answer has spread out over thousands of books. Still, the end is not in sight. Science Fiction has had a field day with this topic and excellent SF novels from great authors like Issac Asimov have come out of this question.

A good question. No answer including this can be good, but attempts can be good.

Energy is the measure of movement that atoms present. When atoms are vibrating faster, they give off energy in the form of heat. And what measures heat? A thermometer, which shows the amount of energy an object has.

It is sorta vague description, but it helps, or I hope it does.

The definition of energy is 'the ability of an object to do work'. But no one can really define energy accurately because it's an abstract thing.

energy cannot be created or destroyed
it is just there u gain it by eating,{like fuel}
and use it by doing everything else
when you sleep, its like turning off a car, you have to refresh by keeping the car on for a little while

or just say, the ability to do work
