I have found that we have way more arguments when I am honest about something I didn't need to let out. When I said, "I think it's ok to flirt", it started the biggest argument we have ever had and I was being honest. Don't ever mention they are gaining weight. Finally, never answer the "How pretty am I on a scale of 1 to 10" question unless you are gonna say "10". Trust me. I said "8.5" and for a while, everytime she saw a pretty woman, she wanted me to rate her on a scale of 1 to 10. God forbid I said 9 even if the woman was a 9 or 10. So, do you believe a man can be too honest?

I'm always amazed at women when they get answers they don't want to hear after asking questions they don't want answers to.

1. It is ok to flirt. Can't help you on that one, other than to say that the more confident she is about you finding her attractive and such, the more comfortable she'll be with that statement.
2. No, never mention they're gaining weight. It is not dishonest to remain silent.
3. The correct answer is always 10. If you need to rationalize that, just remember to tell yourself that you're in love with her and therefore that makes her the most beautiful woman in the world to you. And therefore a 10. No honesty issue involved.

It's really quite easy easy once you get the hang of it. ;)

I've got one brother and I'm going to tell you exactly what I told him. The issue is not about honesty; it's about sensitivity and empathy. Can you put yourself in someone else's shoes? Any woman or man who says s/he wants someone to be completely honest with them is a liar. Think about it this way: do you REALLY want to know how many men the woman in your life has been involved with sexually? What you have to consider is the MOTIVATION behind asking the question and address that. When a woman asks, "Do I look fat in this?", 9 times out of 10 she knows that the answer is "yes". So, she starts feeling insecure and turns to you with the question hoping that you say, "Baby, you're still hot to me". That's it. Does this sound like it's too much work and energy? Yes, it is. But if you really care about someone, you don't mind expending the energy. If it's too much of a sacrifice for you, get ready to be by yourself.

All a woman really expects is that if you claim that you care about her that you take the time to KNOW her. When you do otherwise, all you're saying is that you don't care enough about her feelings to make sure that they're not hurt. Just as important, the same holds true for you. When you make a special connection with a woman (someone you REALLY care about), don't you want her to know you and love you with all your dirty? To know that you can be at your weakest, most unattractive moment and that person will treat you with velvet gloves and assure you that everything is still cool? You will not find HER or KEEP her if you don't get this. Once you know/care about someone and are attentive to their feelings then you'll become more disciplined in keeping your more "truthful" comments to yourself! It's not always about the gift of truth -- packaging counts just as much if not more! LOL! I hope this helps. Good Luck!

No. I am a married woman and would prefer honesty from my spouse. I would rather have a marriage built on honesty than lies. Maybe she shouldn't ask questions if she doesn't want and honest answer. I don't think you should go out of your way to be insensitive by making rude remarks if she has gained five pounds, but if she asks a question she should be mature enough to accept the answer.
