I used to hitchhike to/from work so that I didn't have to spend money on the bus. I was poor and counting my coins to buy lunch/dinner. As long as I was dressed well I almost always got a ride.

When I was 13 - 15 I hitchhiked up and down Southern California whenever I wanted to get away from whatever was going on. I usually ended up in San Diego. I don't suggest it these days though and definitely not for women.

its funny cause when i think of hitchhiking i seem to think of hiking!! anyway yes i have done that. it was really late and very dark and i knew i shouldn't be outside you know that i should be home. so i found myself sticking my thumb out like in the movies. i got a ride from a woman. not a truck driver whos truck smells and is ugly. the woman was quite friendly. she had two little boys in the back seat. i guess she thought i was a nice little teenage girl so she gave me a ride. i told her where i lived and that was that. only get hitchhiked if you absolutely have to. always do it will a woman!!!!

no, but my EX kicked me out of the car once and I had walked 7 miles already in heels when a man picked me up....I said no, but he came back a mile later and said it is getting dark and you are going to get hurt....I said a prayer, he showed me his license.....and even though i knew it was stupid, he drove me home. I was VERY lucky. I know I could have been killed

I did it a lot when I was growing up. One time this girl gave me a lift (I was like 13th) and I stole a baseball cap that was on the back seat. Why did I do something like that when she was helping me? I feel horrible now!

Yes, a while back. A nice couple picked me up and took me to work.
I wouldn't do it nowadays though.
