My beautiful mother died at home 3 months ago. I helped take care of her right until the end. In the hours before she past she talked about seeing beautiful white butterflies. So beautiful she said they were that there was no words to describe them. She started to cry when I told her that I couldn't see what she was seeing. She kept repeating "you have to see this........ they are gorgous"
I remember one afternoon while I was sitting with her.She asked me who the man was at the kitchen table. I told her that I didn't know there was no man there , we were alone. "No" she said "there is a man there and all he say is "I'm waiting" I thought maybe it was medication induced but she quit taking meds 4 weeks prior.
She passed the next morning looking out her bedroom window at one of the most beautiful sunrises with me holding on......... to a woman that I never thought I would have to say goodbye to. I love you mom now and forever

Read the book "What Dreams May Come" by Richard Mattison. (Don't bother with the movie, it was a terrible representation of the book.) While it is fiction, it is a really comforting read about what happens just prior to death and after.
The butterflies? How wonderful! Maybe she was a bit fearful of her coming passing and God showed her a tiny bit of heaven to show her the rest of the beauty she was soon going to see. And now when ever you see a butterfly you will know God is keeping some beauty for you too. Butterflies are a symbol of spring and rebirth and of Jesus resurrection and triumph over death. I pray you find comfort and healing in every butter fly you see this spring>

Butterflies And Death

I'm so sorry about your mom maybe you can find comfort in the beautiful memories you have of the two of you. Butterflies to me have a very beautiful meaning--My sister had surgery to have a brain tumor taken out in 2000. When they took the tumor out my sister was never the same she struggled at everything that used to come so easy for her. It was like she had a stroke-she used a walker, she had double vision, she struggled with everything. It was really sad to see her like that. After a year she died we started seeing all these Monarch butterflies where ever we went. .Also the day we were making the funeral arrangements we went into a store and the cutest little dog came up to me. I asked the lady about her dog and she told me it was a Pappillion and that it meant "butterfly" because of the way the ears resembled a butterfly. When I went home to Michigan I went into a crystal shop; I wasn't looking for anything in particular, I just had an urge to go there. .I found a beautiful rose quartz butterfly it had a card with it and it stated that butterfly means "Transformation" and that the rose quartz stood for love. There were only 3 of these butterflies-- the exact number of girls left in my family. On the way home thoughts from a higher source showed me how my sister struggled just like a catepillar for that whole year than she went into a cocoon state in the hospital when she could no longer communicate. When she died her head was turned to the side and her mouth was part way open and it was if her soul left her body and she was transformed into something much more beautiful. I saw her death in such a beautiful way after that. It still hurts but I am still comforted to this day about what happened. I feel my sister is still with me when I see a Monarch especially.

First of all, I'm terribly sorry for your loss. You seemed very close to your mother. I sincerely hope that you are okay since I know how long the grieving process can take.

I know that when my grandfather died, he was on medication and he thought that many things were there and that he was places that he wasn't. But he was on medication.

Was she completely concious when she said this? It's good that she got to see a beautiful sight leaving this Earth.

I wouldn't worry about it, she might have been dreaming... was she religous? Some people say that before death, when one is very close to their final stages they see Jesus or God "waiting" for them. I've never heard about butterflies though. Sorry.

Be well.

well to see them in your dream means this:

Butterfly
To see a butterfly in your dream, denotes your need to settle down. Butterflies also signifies creativity, romance, joy and spirituality. You may be undergoing a transformation into a new way of thinking.

To see a beautiful colorful butterfly in your dream, denotes the positive impression you will make at a future social gathering.

> being on medication and close to death, a logical explanation would be that your mom was in a semiconscious dream state.

To be more open minded would signify your mom was experiencing her transformation from the physical world to the spiritual world.

You should believe whichever makes you happier.

According to the Catholic faith, a white butterfly is a symbol of the resurrection.

I'm sorry about the loss of your mom. My mother died last spring, at home, under similar circumstances. We had opened the door to let light and air into her room on a beautiful May morning. She gazed out the door with a look of wonder and amazement, and breathed her last breath, at home with her family.
Bless you and your beautiful mother.

You have been truly blessed, to have such a wonderful mom and be with her when she needed you most. If you believe in GOD and Angels and all things spiritual then be at peace with the realization that your mom is with the Angels, not just beautiful butterflys. GOD BLESS
