I was watching this movie on TV and dont know the name of it or how it ended. it had Denzel Washington in it. His son collapsed while playing baseball and it was discovered he needed an operation. Washington and hsi family were poor and insurance wouldnt cover it. Then the community staretd raising money and that is all I saw. Anyone know the name and how it ended? This has been driving me nuts lol.

I'm sorry but I don't know the name of the movie...but i love it...this is how it ends...
well...
denzel washington seems to have no other choice cuz he can't find a heart then to kill himself and they can donate that heart to his son...so he's upstairs in a hospital and he has a gun in his hands...(the reason he had a gun in his hands was because he was holding the hospital hostage since he needed that heart) so he's about to kill himself when suddenly...they happen to find a heart...so the wife calls him... and he sees her name but doesn't answer the call that could save his life...so they have to race upstairs and tell him...they do it just in time...the son lives...but denzel washington gets arrested since he held the hospital hostage...(sorry i'm a little low on the detail though) but it was a good movie...

The name of the movie is John Q. Denzel's character, John Quincy Archibald, went on to take the hospital hostage and force them to operate on his son after facing desperation and hopelessness in the face of a very cold insurance company. In the end, the son is operated on and John is snuck out of the hospital to spend a moment with his son and know that he has received a donor's heart. The donor was a victim of a car crash. As I recall, John was going to end up going to trial for his crimes although he didn't kill anyone.

John rushes Michael to a hospital emergency room where he is informed that Michael's only hope is a transplant. Unfortunately, John's insurance won't cover his son's transplant. Out of options, John Q. takes the emergency room staff and patients hostage until hospital doctors agree to do the transplant.
In the end his son gets the transplant right before his dad is about to kill himself, to give him his heart. John ends up going to jail.

Since the Doctors wouldn't do the operation he got a gun and held the patients and doctors hostage in the hospital. then he felt bad and let the patients go because some of them were near death. Then they found a heart for his son and the doctors did the operation while they were still held hostage, at the end he gets sent to jail and his son lives. not exactly a happy ending but that's the way it is!

Ummmm.... the movie is called John Q.
ummm okay the police send a guy to kill him but he moves away just in time and it hits his shoulder, at the same time a woman dies from a car accident and her heart fits his son's... he doesn't know it yet so he gets the police to send his son into teh Emergency Room where he and teh rest of teh patients r .... then a lot of stuff happens and he finally lets everyone go... b4 that he tries to kill himself to give his heart to his son but his wife gets to teh door just b4 he pulls the trigger and therefore he dose not die.... after he is notified that there is heart for his son, he gets a friend of his to pretend to b him and he leaves teh hopistal to go to another wing to help his son.... the doctors put give a heart transplant to his son and he is fine... then it skips ahead and John is on trail.... he gets like 5-6 months of jail time.. then it ends
It is actually a pretty good movie like 8 out of 10
