I am 32 now. I had a very horrible experiance in that place, it still effects me today.I never knew my family up till 2 yrs. ago,my mom gave me up at 8 yrs old..told the system i had no siblings and my dad was dead.I was never adopted and had no family..I was a ward of the court till age of 18 +.My mom was a loser.Come to find out I do have a sister who found me in missoula mt .2 years ago I almost fell over,the system and my mom lied to me.The state kept me against my will in o.s.h only because i had no family and the state had ran out of time and money nor had no family fighting for me,my mom told them when she sighned the papers at 8 that i had no other family..which was a lie.there is alot more..Since my sister found me the truth came out about our mom.Alot of people including my sister have said this wasnt right .All have said I have a lawsuit..do I?There was alot of illeagl issues that happened in o.s.h. to me and other kids...it was ward 40 c mckenzie hall.I feel someone canhelp

I don't believe you can sue the state without its permission, check with an attorney to see if you have a case.

From what you've stated I don't know enough to tell whether you have a case or not. You might. I suggest you call your local Court Clerk and ask him/her to give you the phone number to your local Legal Aid service. You can get legal aid for Civil issues, not just criminal issues! You will have to meet income requirements, but you might qualify and they will try to help you. If you don't qualify, they can refer you to other attorneys who may wish to help you.
