loreal full definiton voluminous mascara! its not expensive (probably under $10) it goes on smoothly without chunks on the lashes & adds volume. i use black brown so that its thick but not too dramatic. it doesnt even look very fake like most mascaras. its easy to get off too. i just use ivory soap in the shower or a q-tip with a little bit of soap just below the lashes & above. good luck!

If you're willing to splurge, then so does Estee Lauder.
Maybe go to a make-up counter in the mall, and ask them about it.
They would give you some really good answers.

I didn't see your initial question.............but my usual advice to people (I sell Avon) is to use something NOT waterproof on your top lashes, as the ingredients that make it waterproof will dry your lashes and make them susceptible to breakage.
If you want to use waterproof on the BOTTOM lashes, so it doesn't smudge and end up looking like dark circles, that's OK.
Just make sure you replace your mascara every 3 months so you don't get bacteria in it, which can lead to pink eye.
