TANF took over where my private lawyer left off in aiding me in collecting child support. Up until last June I recieve child support regularly from my children's father through such tactics as work release, extradiction, weekley court dates , lic suspension. The judge has allowed him to stop all payments for someunkown reasons known ot me and the department that collects the money. How can I push the issue w/o getting in trouble with the judge.

Why don't you support yourself, and let the no good b*astard get away from you and your kid. He OBVIOUSLY is not a good influence.

In most states you have a right to ask to review the case file. In the case file should be all of the paperwork pertaining to your case, including any motions filed and decisions rendered. That information will tell you if the judge has suspended payments and why. You may petition the court for resumption of payments if it is warranted, by filing a motion for modification through the clerk's office. You will have to have an officer of the court (either a constable or deputy sheriff ) serve the motion upon your ex. Providing he appears, the judge will then decide on your your request.

Actually, that's pretty simple. You need to FIND HIM and let the judge know where he is. Supply this information to TANF. TANF is famous for sitting on their duffs and not doing any investigation.

I hate to say this because it is a last resort. But if you apply for welfare and tell them it is because your X won't pay his children's support, they will go after him.
