The Bucs have just acquired Jeff Garcia and Jake Plummer. They also have Simms coming back. Does this help or hurt the QB situation in Tampa Bay? And does this, with the possible #4 pick of WR Calvin Johnson improve the Buccaneers chances for a playoff spot in 2007-2008?

Also Johnson can very well fall to the Bucs. The Raiders and Lions have expressed desperate needs for QB's. The Lions also want to bulk up their O-Line. The Browns need a RB and are in love with Peterson...there's not really anyone for them to trade for that's out there right now.

getting plummer on the bucs doesnt help. this guy will be traded very soon. the bucs need major major help on the O line and D line. it doesnt matter whos throwing calvin the ball if there flat on their butts. the big O lineman from wisconsin is there next priority.
having garcia is wonderful since simms plays better when he has more compition around him.

Garcia can be a good QB as well as Plummer. I would put Simms in before I think about Plummer though. As for Johnson, it does leave the door wide open for him, he will be a Pro Bowler one day.

Jake Plummer is seriously considering retirement...It is obvious he didn't want to go to the Bucs...I doubt this will be a problem...I don't think Plummer is going to be playing for the Bucs...I think he has played his last game, and it was with the Broncos...He will retire, and Jeff Garcia is your starting QB next season, with Chris Simms and Bruce Gratkowski competing when Garcia retires...

They need to get rid of Plummer, or have him retire. Acquiring Garcia will help them. He can play if Chris Simms gets hurt or he might even start and have Simms as the backup. It would definately help them in the playoff chase, but don't expect anything very big.

It obviously helps but none of the three can be depended on for the entire season. Calvin Johnson won't get pass #3 as the Browns will trade down and let someone move up to get him. He is the best player in the draft and they won't just let him go by. They have no need for a WR so they will trade out of the spot. I cannot see the Bucs improving record wise much as they have a very competitive division.

This helps the situation i think. With 3 possible starting quarterbacks, each will be driven by each other to get the starting job. They will perform at a higher level knowing that someone else is behind them in their footsteps. If they get Johnson in the draft, it definitely improves the playoff chances.
