This is likely to be a rumor. There're always rumors going around saying "Tom's deleting Myspace!" "Myspace is going to start charging!" "Myspace is closing!"--no it's not. Myspace was recently bought by Fox and they have no reason to close it down. Fox makes millions annually for the ads that are seen there and with so many people using it, there is no way Fox would ever close it down right now.
Bare in mind that Tom is the equivalent to Jack for Jack in the Box. Tom is a chartacature, what "he" says does not reflect the intentions of the the operators of Myspace.

i think its just a rumor. tom doesnt even own myspace anymore. it was bought out by microsoft or some other big company maybe it was google. so he doesnt even have the rights anymore to close it down. i like myspace & admit im waaay too addicted. it would be good & bad if it closed though. i keep in contact with family & old neighbors via myspace but im on too much.

RUMOR IN BULLETINS - myspace isn't shutting down, despite what you read in bulletins :) - never trust a rumor posted in the bulletin section. When anything serious or important happens, Tom posts an announcement on your home page - otherwise it's fake :)
