Some suits and special fabrics can't be washed in water. It'd ruin them

Lots of chemicals.
Watch 'How it's Made' if you can view that on cable. I saw a show on cleaners and detergents.
Quite scary what they pump into our detergents.
PS - cleaners usually only 'dry clean' our clothes because they have the equipment to steam press them so they won't shrienk or burn.

Because they wouldn't be called "the cleaners" if they didn't clean your clothes. Well, unless they cleaned something else like carpets.

because of expensive fabric.. a lot of clothes are dry clean only. And some busy people don't have time.

some do but they clean your clothes because either they're paid to do it or you just need your clothes cleaned and there's a stain on it that you can't get out but they probably can!!
