Not totally orthodox but I've just found the answer at... Don't Let Sky Win! (www.dontletskywin.co.uk) - the customer will decide.

It looks like either way business wins, but if SKY take the glory, the long term cost to customers could be that there are far more losers than winners!

Virgin Media will obviously profit if they win but the customer will at least still have a choice of provider and leave the market competitive.

I'd like to see the customers and the viewing public support Virgin Media more on a point of principle than on which company supplies their TV.

Long live fairplay and I recommend joining the campaign at www.dontletskywin.co.uk - who knows what customer power can achieve where company muscle fails!!

Nobody wins the customer just loses! Virgin should be sorting this out and getting back those channels asap and keeping their customer happy. Instead they are putting the heads in the sand and hoping it dies down, leaving call centre's to deal with a problem they have no comprehension of. Branson maybe a Great Brit but he doesn't understand that the Average Brit just wants to watch the best tv they don't really give a **** who supplies it, Patriotism doesn't stretch to British Tv all we wanna do is relax and watch 20 yanks a brit & an aussie running round an island shouting!

Sky. Virgin Media have lost credibility. I cancelled my cable tv last week as Virgin stopped Sky1 on the 1st March - with little advise and no compensation or dialogue (I would have paid for Sky1 but not given the option). Sky being installed tomorrow, with a better package AND cheaper.

Sky has my vote. A friend who switched to Virgin Media recently now wishes he hadn't. He's had more problems with them than he ever did with Sky.

Sky already has - VM is just being childish at the moment with their scrolling banners on what were the Sky stations.
It`s just a shame that NTL/VM customers are suffering for the inability of VM to settle a cost deal with SKY ,I might have sympathy with VM if they hadn`t just put their bills up.

Hopefully Virgin. We'll all get a better deal with Richard Branson at the helm. He's one of the good guys!

Sky charge for their channels, then charge again for e.g. certain sports events!

virgin media due the name and reliability, also the company is a billion times bigger than sky

Neither.Because virgin wont pay the money to sky and sky wont lower their price.
But what virgin are in the process of doing is contacting warner bros etc and making deals with them. so i think virgin will end up making their own channels and ******* sky lol.

Virgin Media. fair enough Sky has taken certain channels away but.....they are planning on giving us more FREE channels to make up for it plus they are cheaper. You can watch repeated stuff for free unlike Sky who charge you!
