Northern Ireland here- a nice clear night for it,and I looked out around 11pm to see the full Moon almost completely masked by a reddish brown "shadow"-was still working at the time,so didn't get to watch it more then..when I got finished an hour or so later, the shadow had moved across the face of the moon, leaving a "bite" out of the right side :)

The lunar eclipse is over. The shadow of the earth occluded sunlight from reflecting off the moon. It occured early in the eveing over there. Here in the States it occured at moonrise/sunset.

Moon upward push in the east approximately 6:30pm basically approximately at present, the Moon is stepping into the penumbra (the sting). via 7:40 5 the Moon is punctiliously into and lined via the penumbra and on the sting of the umbra. basically earlier 9:00pm the Moon would be completely lined via the umbra of the Moon's shadow. The Moon will stay completely lined till commencing off to sneak out of the umbra at 10:00pm. Even at 11:10pm the Moon is basically commencing off to flee the sting of the Moon's penumbra shadow. a splash after night the Moon would be completely freed from the shadow. (im placed in dallas texas it fairly is the schedule)

sorry mate youve missed it but if its any consolation dont be fooled by the hype, it wasnt 'the most amazing eclipse ever' the slowly turned a dull terracotta shade and then back to normal over almost hours. not at all spectacular like when the sun eclipses. the moon just went dull like on a cloudy night.

Basically, the moon went into the Earth's shadow. Here in the US it made the full moon look like a crescent.
