I got a ticket for going 60 mph in a 40 zone. I took it to a traffic lawyer who charged me $100 for the legal fee to get it amended to a non-moving violation. Also, I had to pay $275 to the city. Is this typical or did I get ripped off?

Thanks

honestly, i believe that unless you caused danger to any civilians or public property, i think you got ripped off on the $275 deal.

Ask your insurance company how much a 20 over speeding ticket would raise your rates and for how long?

Then ask the court what a typical fine is for a 20 over speeding ticket?

Then do the math.

I don't have any recent tickets but I would think you got great deal until I was shown otherwise.

While you may have payed more money than you could of, you will not get any points on your license. Which has long term benefits.

Best of Luck!
