Is it that most people dont care and just want to be the one with the most points and/or have the highest rating? I am currently deployed to Iraq and a friend and I are browsing questions to help pass the down with our down time. I have mainly looked at the military category and noticed that at least 95% of the people that answer do't have a clue as to what they are saying. Why give someone advice just so you can have your name in lights? If you have something intelligent to say then go for it but just don't speak to speak. I understand that we all have freedom of speach but if you're not going to say something useful on a help site then keep your mouth shut.

and the sad part of it is that most of the 95% who don't have a clue may not even know they don't have a clue. We get a lot of our information from television, newspapers, radio, or word of mouth. We can only either assume or hope what we read and hear is truthful, so when we pass it on, we are of the faith what we are saying is good stuff. I will aslo agree with you some people just want the attention or maybe the points. Yahoo Answers is cheap entertainment to them. The war cannot be easy for you, and I am glad you have internet at your disposal. Try to use this site with a grain of salt. Go ahead and laugh at all the sorry souls on here--they will never know you are doing it, and if it keeps your spirits up, their answer was worth something, even if they did not have a clue. i found out too... That Y!A is basically for entertainment, and the income of each and every individuality.. Who will have self assurance approximately your noble objective...? Y!A has turned into an entertainment site for the most part. Some of the questions are as ridiculous as the answers, if you've noticed. There are some pearls hidden here from time to time, but you have to look for them. Don't give up! I've learned a lot here, from answers given to me, and from questions I've researched answers for. Some answers arent any good , but I like to give good ones and still get points . At least give good advice and get points in the process . Its nice knowing you get points and gave someone good advice .
I do it to help others out ,and find answers to there questions ,after all ,thats what its for , other then pass time .

you are so right. but its not just the answers that are useless but also the questions. I have you looked at the politics or religion section. The bickering that goes on there is ridiculous. I used to come here a lot but I stopped. Now I just come when I'm bored or I want to know something odd.

i agree with u so much bcuz whenever i ask a question for help i get all these crappy answers and by the time i get sumthing dat can help me, forget it i dont need the help anymore. the answers are useless cuz most ppl just wanna get points or meet other ppl. other than that they think they know the answer but they dont. so theres no real point asking gquestions here and i think u shud ask sum1 for help face to face so they can seriously help you. is this a well enuff answer?
