I am a veteran.
I live in the Armed Forces Retirement Home, Washington, D.C.
We have about 1,350 veterans living here and many that work here.
Also there is a "Veterans Home" on campus.

I'm a home support worker so many of my male clients are vets of WWII. I didn't hug them but I cooked for them and helped them get their coats on to go out for a walk. One of them wrote a bunch of short stories about his experience in the war and got me to read them. He led a very interesting life and I was very sad when he died.

*HUG*

My grandfather was a veteran from the Korean war. He died this week from lung cancer. We had pictures of him from the service at the funeral.
