I've had my ears pierced for nearly 2 months now and the past couple days my right piercing has been a little sore to the touch. Its not showing any sign of infection. (Not red, not bleeding, no puss, dosen't feel hot.) But I'm not sure if I should be having any soreness after 2 months. Also, this same piercing bothered me about a month ago and I had to take it out for a couple days that time. However, my left piercing has not bothered me at all. Does anyone know what could be causing this piercing to be sore? Is it normal even after 2 months? What can I do for it?

I am still wearing my starter studs. They are supposed to be 14k white gold I believe.

When you put your earrings in dip the post into some antibiotic ointment. This will help. My ears get sore and they have been pierced for decades!
Once I had a second hole put in my left ear. It hurt for about 1 year, no kidding. I couldn't sleep on it It finally stopped but good grief! I think they did it sideways...or something.

It's completely normal for your eyes to get sore at ANY time...2 months is totally fine. What has happened is that your ear has gotten infected. (This has happened to me SO MANY TIMES). It may be that your ears are sensitive to the metals...and you can only wear pure gold posts (like me!). Put in your pure gold stud starter earrings again and make sure that you clean your ears every night. Don't take out your starter earrings until your ear stops hurting. Good luck! =)

Does it get worse after showering? When I got my ears pierced I think the water and shampoo aggravated them. It could also be a sign of a metal sensitivity, or it could be an infection anyway. Does the right earlobe seem kind of puffy, perhaps? I'd suggest asking the place that pierced them about it. Good luck!

It sounds normal. I would put triple antibiotic on the posts and around the holes to prevent any infection, and just take tylenol. Other than that, there isn't much you can do. But, they will eventually stop getting sore.

Maybe it's the beginnings of an infection. My recommendation put alcohol on it for about a month or so. My ear did that and it turned out to be a huge nasty infection. :(

Its probably the metal that is irratating them..change to a hyperallergic ear ring and see if that improves..or it might be infected on the inside..clean it with peroxide..
