free video editor?

ive been makin vids with my digital camera but i want a video editor that can make the video do effects such as slow motion and vioce changer.....even if its just a trial i would appreciate some suggestions...thanks:)

Microsoft movie maker that came with Windows XP service pack II will get you off the ground. It's very easy to use and has lot of effects. It can't distort voices though.

Although it doesn't do voice changes(they have those seperate usually for purchase). Microsoft Movie Maker does have effects.
