Quite possibly three of the four greatest Rock bands in the history of the planet (the fourth being Black Sabbath). Deep Purple are my all-time favourite band - Rock music played with virtuosity seldom encountered outside the world of classical music (mind you Blackmore could handle a cello just as well as a guitar).

Uriah Heep, of course were heavily into the Sword and Sourcery slant. The bottom line with Uriah Heep though, was simply fun and escapism.

I have heard of some associations between Led Zeppelin and occultism, and apparently some of their members were into some pretty wierd stuff, but it was the late 60s and early 70s - it was cool to be wierd then (and who cares what a bunch of right wing religious nuts think anyway).

As for Deep Purple, I've never heard of them being associated with anything other than great music (unless you count egotism).

Definately good taste.

Your taste in music is impeccable, as for the associations - there are unfortunately people out there who like to blame rock music for everything that goes wrong in the world
