On reading Queen Rania of Jordan's excellent question i realised that i couldnt answer - i didn't know if i was helping in any way!
Your suggestions please.

First, see if there are any already existing groups that do that in your community. If there is a woman's society, see if you can help them. If not, see if you can start one. How are the schools in your area? See if you can help support or create summer or after school classes focused on girls both in areas that are traditionally female (dance, parenting) and less so (computer skills, industrial arts, leadership).
Try to partronize woman owned shops in your area and just treat women respectfully, if nothing else. No cheesy pickup lines, no overlong glances from head to toe. Open doors and offer to help with a heavy load, the basic courtesies.
