This really Ticks me off!

Why are there some Yahoo Messenger 'friends' that always ask me for $ $ $ Money on there ??

I guess I'm the only one in here,,,,, or am I. What do they think I'm made of ?
Money ? I Don't think so !!

I was talking to a Y-Messenger friend 2 nights ago......
She told me She was 'Trapped in Africa.' Her Boyfriend and her flew to Africa a few weeks ago.
Now, she told me her Boyfriend 'ran off' and completely left her all alone and 'Stuck in Africa' and can not get back home to her hometown of New York.

She was like trying to pull my leg and she wanted me to at least help Pay for her Half-the-Cost of her Plane ticket back home from Africa to her home in New York.
She even wanted me to E-mail her Attourney to tell him to help her with the other half of the $$ Cost of the flight home for her.

I mean, what goes on in these friend's minds. I'll never know.
Sheesh !! I Don't have $$ 2,000 to get her home. She could be Lying and she's really in the USA.

Help!

I had a simular situation a couple of years back. While riding the train from mt. vernon (ill) to san francisco (ca), i befriended a woman who had told me her mom was a queen in some type of african village and that i could give her cash to get home here mother would doubled what i payed. I almost belived her, she even had me talk to her "mom".

When i got back home i was still in contact with her. She had called me and ask if i could western union her the cash($5,000). Thankfully a show came on that night about the new african scams going on. I had called her back after i saw it and mentioned it, after i had said the word "scam" she hung up, lol.

Don't fall for it.

Don't give her the money. Do you know this girl at all really? Don't believe someone over the internet. I'm pretty sure I saw something like this on tv once, it was this huge hoax these people were doing. They flirted/ pretended to love people online and once they got close (online) began asking for money "to help them get back from Africa". Just say no.

This is a scam. You need to remove this person from your messenger list and block any further contact with her. There are many scammers out there and you need to be careful who you accept into your friends list. The only people on my IM are immediate family members and people I have known for years.

I've had girls claiming that their from africa too. any girl who asks you for money is really not interested in you. they just want money. some of them make a living that way. they talk to you all sweet until you tell them no money, and then they won't talk to you anymore. they move to the next one.

If you've only met this person online, then regard them as a potential scammer until proven otherwise.
It all sounds a bit dodgy to me, I mean, doesn't she have family or friends that aren't online? She would have people other than you to turn to, so I would be very wary of parting with my hard-earned.
Furthermore, I'd be blocking her and moving on.

It could very well be a ploy to get money out of you, or she could very well be stranded and asking for help. Just tell her you can't help as much as she wants you to. If she's a good enough friend, she will stop asking about it.
