I have a mouse with a ball inside. I took it out and tested the bars which turn, I found out that the bar which makes the cursor go up and down worked fine, but the bar which turns to make the mouse go from left to right wasn't working properly. It didn't spin as fast as the other one and the cursor barely moved right and left. Does anyone know how I can fix this without purchasing a new mouse? Would WD-40 work? Thanks!

No wd-40. Just make sure you clean the two bars and the wheel and then the ball. If that doesn't fix it buy a new one they are fairly cheap.

Buy a new mouse. Those little plastic things wear out and won't last long even if you could get it going again. You can get a decent optical IBM mouse for $15 with no moving parts to worry about.
